Series: The Keeper Chronicles Book 2
Rating: 5 stars
Has anyone gone on any fun vacations this summer (or winter depending on where you live)? I just got back from an adventurous vacation with my friend Will, although I doubt he would call it a vacation considering he was looking for his missing sister. We visited the Roven Sweep and spent a lot of time with Killien, one of the Roven torches. Although many Roven do not like foreigners, we were excited to discover Killien’s views were different, but all was not as it seemed. Despite running into some frost goblins and a dragon, we bonded with friends (new and old), and explored beautiful grasslands, mystical caves, and daunting mountains.
In all seriousness, I listened to the audiobook of Pursuit of Shadows by J.A. Andrews, and it was absolute perfection. My favorite aspect (if you couldn’t already tell) was the way the story draws you in and makes you feel like you’re experiencing it with the characters. Everything from the pacing to the character development to the themes was flawless, and this was definitely not your typical slow second book that you find with many trilogies.
I also really needed this book right now. Books have always been important to me, but some stick out in my memory as being there for me when I needed hope and strength. Pursuit of Shadows is certainly one of those books, and I am so thankful that Janice shared this story with the world.
