My name is Emily Katzenberger, and I am the sole owner of The Biased Bibliophile Editing Services. I am a freelance developmental and copyeditor, book coach, beta reader, authenticity/sensitivity reader, blogger, and ARC reviewer.

(Please note: blogposts and ARC reviews are not services I offer but hobbies I enjoy in my free time. I do not charge for them or benefit financially in any way.)

Most features of this website do not require users to share any personal identifiable information (PII). However, some features won’t work properly if you choose to withhold information.

The features that require you to share PII include:

• Leaving a comment on a blogpost or book review.

• Contacting me via the contact form.

• Emailing me via my email listed on the contact page.

PII collected may include your name, email address, IP address, and any information you choose to include in your communications.

Additionally, I use Squarespace’s analytics feature which collects nonpersonal information, such as geographic location, browser type (Chrome, FireFox, etc.), browser version, pages viewed, operating systems used (MAC, PC, etc.), and search keywords. This data is anonymized to protect your privacy.

I may use your information to:

• display your comments on a book review or blog post.

• send communications you’ve requested.

• deal with requests for special consideration (e.g. editing feedback).

• personalize your experience and deliver information in which you’ve expressed interest.

• follow up after requested communications to provide extra information or to ask for assistance.

• improve the functionality and/or engagement of the site.

• maintain internal records.

I do not use your information for purposes other than what you intend.

For users to have the best experience, I generally do not delete information unless requested.

I do not track visitors across other websites or allow advertising on my site. Your information is not used by me for targeted ads. However, I do use Squarespace’s analytics feature.

Other third parties beyond my control might collect information through tracking and cookies. It’s possible to discourage tracking and/or disallow use of cookies through your browser.

I am the only one who has access to your information on my server. I will not sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties, and I will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

I may pass along your information to a third party service provider for the purposes of completing tasks and providing requested services to you on my behalf. When I use third party service providers, I disclose only the personal information that is necessary to deliver the service. I won’t release your information to any other third parties unless I am required to do so by law.

It’s your choice whether you share information with me or receive it from me. If you decide to not share some PPI with me, I may not be able to provide some of the features and functionality of the site.

To access, change, or delete your PPI gathered from processes on this site, please contact me using my contact form.

I use an SSL certificate provided through Squarespace. Site visitors are automatically redirected to HTTPS, sitemaps include HTTPS, and my site will not load in browsers that don’t support SSL. These precautions help prevent hackers from impersonating me and stealing information from site visitors. That being said, no online data can be guaranteed 100%.

My site uses necessary cookies so users can navigate and use features on my site. It is possible to disable cookies in your browser, however doing so may prevent you from using certain features on this site.

Certain pages on my site may include links to other websites run by other people and/or organizations. This Privacy Policy applies only to my website, so I encourage you to read the privacy statements on the other websites you visit.

I cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other sites, even if you access them using links from my website. That being said, I want to protect the integrity of my site, so any feedback about links to questionable sites is welcome.

Similarly, if you access my website via a link from a third party site, I cannot be responsible for the privacy policies and practices of the owners and operators of that third party site and recommend that you check the policy of that third party site.

I do not promote the information, products, or services on this to children under the age of 16. Visitors under the age of 16 should get their guardian’s permission before sharing PPI with me.
